Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

Cinnamon and Raisins… They were made for each other.  In bagels, cookies, breads, oatmeal,  etc… When these two forces combine…magic happens.  Serious magic.  No other way to explain it.  There actually might be little elves in my oven.  It is possible.  Anything is possible.  I love cinnamon raisin swirl bread.  Guess what I love almost moreContinue reading “Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread”

Oatmeal Pecan Apple Raisin Cookies

It smells like fall.  I noticed this on Labor Day.  It was my first fall air inhale of the season.  It was just as refreshing as smelling that first spring air a few short months ago.  Our clothes smelled like fall too  – I smelled a friends sweatshirt, just to make sure.  Yep, he smelledContinue reading “Oatmeal Pecan Apple Raisin Cookies”

Tomorrow is Labor Day (well when you read this, it will be Labor Day) … So happy Labor Day!  Can’t believe summer is unofficially over, seems crazy.  But I like fall, so bring it on.  How did you fill your holiday weekend?   A final pool party, trip to the beach, or lake?  Cookouts and cornhole? Continue reading “Lemon Blueberry Cake”

Cherry Lime Sorbet

Sorbet.  Sounds fancy.  Its not.  Its fruit, a bit of sugar, and maybe a little extra flavoring.  That’s it.  Simple, bright, and refreshing.  I am slightly addicted to Whole Fruit sorbet.  Their mango, rasberry, and strawberry – all worth writing home about.   Their single serving deals even include a spoon, stuck in the lid.  Handy.   However,Continue reading “Cherry Lime Sorbet”

Apple Walnut Chicken Salad

You know what’s scary?  Hummingbirds.  Yeah, those little birds whose wings never stop beating and they beat at like a million miles a second.   That little thing scared the bejesus outta me.  Alfred Hitchcock like. I was sitting on my patio, minding my own business, and this hummingbird does a Topgun fly by, MaverickContinue reading “Apple Walnut Chicken Salad”

Strawberry Rhubarb Muffins

Monday night, Melissa and I, went to Loretta Paganini School of Cooking and ate our way through the flavors of California with Chef Michael Herschman.   We had such a great time and I am hoping some of those recipes end up on here in the near future.  I think the first thing will be the salt-baked chicken…freaking amazing!   Stay tuned!Continue reading “Strawberry Rhubarb Muffins”
